Barrelling is used for cleaning small parts in batch operation. A good tumbling and uniform cleaning of the components handled as bulk goods is achieved through the rotating movement of the barrel. In doing so, the cleaning action is based on the cleaning liquid added to the barrel which can act both physically as well as chemically on the small parts. In case the mechanical rubbing movement against the barrel wall and/or of the components against each other is at the forefront of the cleaning action, the process is called slide grinding.
