Layers characterized by a minimal surface energy and therefore repelling polar as well as nonpolar media. Antiadhesive layers can be produced by plasma polymerisation of e. g. perfluorinated organic monomers or hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDSO). Also refered to as non-stick coatings, release coatings, or antisoiling coatings.
